ABOUT THE AUTHOR S.N. Malakar

Dr. S.N. Malakar is currently the Director of the Gulf Studies Programme at the School of International Studies, Jawaharlal Nehru University, New Delhi. He has been associated with Academy of Third World Studies, Jamia Millia Islamia, New Delhi (India) and National Labour Institute, (Government of India). Moreover presently he is the Joint Secretary of African Studies Association (India). He has published number of Research Articles in National and International Journals and in many edited books specially on Africa. He has also contributed number of research articles on India and multidisciplinary subjects and presented number of seminars papers in national and international conferences on Africa and other inter disciplinary subjects. He has visited USSR, Russia, Iran, Ethiopia and Sudan for the academic purposes. His area of specialization focuses on Agrarian Transformation, social conflict and Democracy in Africa.
