The volume is a collection of speeches by E. Ahamed, Minister of State of External Affairs, Government of India, at the UN Security Council and General Assembly over the years that articulate India’s concerns and perspectives at the global level. The speeches cover various sensitive subjects of international relations which have special relevance in the context of the multitude of challenges and crises of the present day—the economic meltdown on the global level, the ‘war against terror’, energy crisis, global warming, poverty, hunger and destitution. The speeches stress on the need for an integrated approach to solving the problems. They emphasise on implementation of plans rather than their mere pronouncement and point out that force has to be denounced when it comes to resolution of conflicts.
