ABOUT THE AUTHOR Afzal Ahmad

Dr. Afzal Ahmad was awarded Ph.D. from M.S. University, Baroda, for his study on Indo-Portuguese history in 1985. He co-edited Emergence of Cochin in the Pre-Industrial Era: Study of Portuguese Cochin. He has been collecting data from numerous European archives and libraries as a fellow of the Fundacao Calouste Gulbenkian, ICALP and Fundacao Oriente, all in Lisbon, for several yeaers. He lives in Lisbon.
