Inscriptions of the Early Kadambas

For the first time as many as 44 inscriptions belonging to the Early Kadambas – the first imperial native dynasty of Karnataka – have been compiled with Summaries and critically edited in one volume. The author has, while interpreting these inscriptions, differed with the existing view points and thrown much fresh light on the history of the period. In the exhaustive introduction, besides tracing the origin, genealogy and chronology of the Kadamba dynasty, a detailed analysis of the political history from the time of the founder King MayQravarman till Damodara- varman is given. The author has also dealt with religion and geography of the period.
