Volume II draws attention to the need for regulations to oversee these funds, apart from bringing to light the Insurance Act 1938, Life Insurance Act 1956, General Insurance Business (Nationalization) Act, 1972, Public Liability Act 1991 and IRDA Act 1999 and other regulations made under each of them. Volume III discusses the need for enacting insurance laws to protect the rights of individuals. Apart from presenting various concepts of fire, marine and motor insurances, this book also explains contemporary insurance trends, law, changes and proposals of today’s insurance business.

ABOUT THE AUTHOR A V Narsimha Rao

A V Narsimha Rao holds an MA (English), LLM (Mercantile Law), PG Diploma in Business Management and the membership of CAIIB. He is currently working as a Faculty Member, Academic Wing – Law, The ICFAI University. Previously, he served as an officer in Bank of India, and General Manager/CEO in Kranthi Urban Cooperative Bank. His areas of interest include Insurance Law, Banking Law, Commercial Laws, Human Resource Management, Intellectual Property Rights and Health Law. He also edited a few books, published by the ICFAI University Press.

ABOUT THE AUTHOR U. Jawaharlal

U Jawaharlal (b 1954), is an Associate of Insurance Institute of India, Mumbai. He holds a B.Sc. degree from Osmania University and is a CAIIB from Indian Institute of Bankers, Mumbai. He also holds an MBA in Finance and a Diploma in Industrial Relations and Personnel Management. He has an experience of over seven years in LIC of India and over 20 years in Indian Bank. During his tenure in Indian Bank, he had exposure in vital areas like international finance, credit management, MIS, branch management etc. Presently, he is a faculty member in the ICFAI University, and also teaches at ICFAI Business School. He is also the Consulting Editor of Insurance Chronicle, a monthly magazine from ICFAI University Press. He has written several articles in the domain of insurance and some of his articles have been published in reputed international magzines. He has participated in several national and international seminars/conferences and has delivered lectures in various forums.
