Dr. R.K. Dixit, L.L.M. (Harvard), S.J.D. (Northwestern), former Legal Adviser of the Ministry of External Affairs, government of India is an accomplished jurist having wide experience of legal advise, teaching and research in international law spanning over a period of more than 45 years in various capacities. He has been Legal Adviser, ICSC in Vietnam (1966-68), IMO Consultant and Maritime Law Expert to Tonga (1971-73), Leader of Indian Delegation and Chairman of the Drafting Committee of the U.N. Conference on Carriage of Goods by Sea, (Hamburg Rules, 1976), Deputy Leader of Indian Delegation to the diplomatic Conference on International Humanitarian Law, Geneva (1974-77) Director & Legal Adviser of International Bauxite Association, Jamaica, (1985-88), Commonwealth Legal Consultant to SADAC (1993 & 94) and International and National Arbitrator among others. His several articles have been published in leading legal journals.
