Those who are born, die and take rebirth. The wheel of life, death and rebirth continues till the soul acquires the condition, which fits it for reunion with God Gautam Buddha, who is said to have lived 550 previous lives over more than 25,000 years, stressed that attachment to earthly existence confined human beings to the treadmill of rebirth. If one gives up clinging to these desires, he doesn’t require to return. Man is mortal but the soul immortal, which resides within him. Thus, even when his physical body is dead, the soul enters another mortal in any form to get its unfulfilled desire of the past birth. Thus, re-incarnation is not exclusively a Buddhist or Hindu concept but is a part of the history of human origins. There are incidents where people, in childhood, recollect and recognize past life experiences and environment. Based on this theory and belief the story of “Janams” took birth. According to Hindu belief the soul must get rightful offering and last rites of the dead body to satisfy herself that those with whom he lived are doing rightful last rites, giving generous offerings for its easy passage to heaven. Forever, when this is not undertaken the soul remains restless and wanders around the living to get the last rite in the known sacred place like Hardwar, Mutton in Kashmir, Budh Gaya to release her form the shackles to become pitr from pisaca (soul in torment unable to become neither preta, nor pitr.). This is the fiction story where a tormented soul makes a deal with the young woman to get her rightful offering at Budh Gaya by her son to become a pitr, in lieu of letting her know what happens after death. The janams reveal the story of a soul who wanted to fulfil her desire of eternal love in human form. The reason was that she was born as a eunuch and failed to get her desire fulfilled. She took rebirth as a dancing girl, Devadasi and finally the fulfilment of her desire was realized when she got married as a normal family woman. Though she had a blissful life, an unnatural death made her soul pisaca. She was a good soul so through this young woman she had her last rites done and sought heaven.
