ABOUT THE AUTHOR Gurdeep Singh Randhawa
Gurdeep Singh Randhawa is an eminent horticulture scientist. He obtained his doctorate in horticulture from Cornell University, USA. As the Horticulture Advisor in the Indian Aid Mission, Nepal, he was instrumental in establishing horticulture research and extension work and thus laid strong foundation for the economic development in the country. Dr. Randhawa has served many organizations in various capacities such as Director, Horticulture, CPWD India; Assistant Director General, ICAR, India; Director of Agriculture, Bhutan; and Landscape Designer in Oman and Zanzibar. He was awarded the prestigious Nepali honour Gorkha Dakshina Bahu.
