The material collected for the book is more than 100 but, out of them I am presenting only 33 weeds (plants growing of their own) in volume 1. Each wed is named in local Kashmiri language, scientific name, common name and in national and international language. A brief history about description of the weed its chemical constituents present in it, their medicinal value in past or present and the toxic effects with live and herbarium coloured about 80 photographs. Chapter 1 gives the brief coverage of the valley with coloured photographs, at the end of the book is the glossary of almost all technical terms important places and important personalities mentioned in the book, with list of books and journals from where the material of the book has been collected.

ABOUT THE AUTHOR Mohd. Akbar Anam

Dr. Mohd. Akbar Anam born on 28 March, 1939 in Sopore Kashmir (India). Qualified Matriculation and Inter-science in his town school and college. Did bachler’s degree in science from Muslim University Aligarh (India). Qualified his M.B.B.S. from G.M. College Kashmir, Served in state Health Dept for about 30 years during in service period, did D.H.M. from Hyderabad (India). Publication in Urdu and English articles on health and science with reference to Holly Al-Quran publishing in leading English and Urdu newspapers and journals. Book, ‘Sirajul Muneer’ the theme of Sura Fateha (First lesson from Holly Al-Quran and also book Hadayatul Muneer, miracles and teachings of Hazrath Meer Syeed Ali Hamdani (Shahi Hamadn) RA and participating in T.V. & Radio discussions.
