Kashmiri Pandit’s, a contemporary perspective comprises papers presented at a seminar organized by the KECSS on April 22, 2001, and held at its premises at Pamposh Enclave, New Delhi. The theme of the seminar was "Cultural and social profile of Kashmiri Pandit Community settled in NCR Delhi and Neighbourhood". The papers included in this book cover a wide range of social, cultural, scholastic and artistic aspirations of the Kashmiri Pandits. It focusses attention on the past and present activities of this small community that has survived many genocides in history and still continues to provide leadership in its chosen areas of interest. The papers tackle issues dearest to the hearts of all Kashmiri Pandits, i.e., the state of their mother tongue, Kashmiri; their well-established spiritual, scholastic and informative institutions like Bhagwan Gopinathji Trust, Nityanand Shastri Institute, and Koshur Samachar; and other important bodies like the Vishwa Bharati Education Society and AIKS. There are also papers dealing with the post-migration problems faced by the Kashmiri Pandits in camps or wherever they are now settled. On the whole, this volume should be of interest to all Kashmiri Pandits and those who want to know about their fortitude in the face of the present crisis.
