In Manipur researches on Physical Geography in general and geomorphology in particular are still neglected by geographers. It is also mentioned that geomorphological researches and investigations are not program properly in the Indo-Myanmar Mobile Belt Region which is one of the geological as well as geomorphological provinces of North-East India and adjoining region. Keeping in the mind the above, a comprehensive and analytical study has been made in the form of present book and considering the relevance of Drainage Basin in the geomorphic studies, the drainage basins of Loktak (The largest fresh water lake of North East India) Catchment Area have been selected for the present work.

Broadly speaking, aspects of geomorphology can be grouped into two pure aspects and applied aspects. In the present work an attempt is made to evaluate the pure aspects of geomorphology of the drainage basins of Loktak Catchment Area. Delineation of geomorphic regions have also been made in the present work.

This book will be helpful to those who want to undergo research work on geomorphology in the Indo-Myanmar Mobile Belt Region. It is also helpful to the scholars working in the field of applied geomorphology, land use planning and other allied disciplines. The present work is the first step taken by a geographer.
