This book is written with the object of making the information available on ‘right to information’ to the common people in a simple language. Though as a neutral observer it is difficult to capture the strong and vibrant movement on the Right to information in India, its challenges and its implications, into words, yet, an effort is made here to combine these two dimensions of the same issues. ABOUT THE AUTHOR Shalu Nigam

Dr. Shalu Nigam is an advocate, activist, researcher and a consultant. She is working on gender, health and human rights issues for several years. presently, she is associated with the Center for Women Development Studies, New Delhi, where besides doing research and advocacy work, she was involved as an Associate Editor of the monthly journal Legal News and Views. She has presented papers and contributed a number of articels in several reputed journals and got the opportunity to take lectures as a guest faculty with several academic and other insitutions.
