Lineages of the Present: Political Essays

Aijaz Ahmad is a leading Marxist thinker, critic and commentator. Currently he is Visiting Professor at the Jawaharlal Nehru University. Among his celebrated books are: Ghazals of Ghalib (Columbia University Press, 1971; Oxford University Press, 1994); In Theory: Classes, Nations, Literatures (Verso, 1992; OUP, 1994) and Lineages of the Present: Political Essays (Tulika, 1996; Verso 2000). His forthcoming book is titled Whose Century, Whose Millennium: Reflections on our times.
