Linguistics Phonetics and English Language Teaching

English Phonetics and Linguistics aims at the readers with the basic principles and concepts of the subjects. Linguistics has, over the past dew decades, growth into a multidimensional discipline interacting with such diverse areas of study as psychology, sociology, anthropology, palaeography, history, information science and so on. Phonetics deals with the sounds themselves rather than the contexts in which they are used in languages. Discussions of meaning do not enter at this level of linguistics analysis. Phonetics is the study of speech sounds.
