After graduating fro Ranchi University with philosophy and political science, Meera did her post-graduation in English Literature from Madurai Kamaraj University. Subsequently, she took a diploma in journalism from Rajaji College of Mass Communiation, Bharatiya Viday Bhavan, Chennai, and holds a certificate in public relations and public speaking. As a freelance writer, she has written over 1,000 short stories, book reviews, features, interviews and travelogues. Meera is on the visiting faculty of journalism in the college she studied in, where she teaches writing for the media. Her husband is a professor at a business school in Chennai.
