The book is in line with Anthropological Survey’s endeavors to study the human dimension of all the Biosphere Reserves in India under its ongoing national project, Man and Environment: Biosphere Reserve Study. The present study on Similipal Biosphere Reserve focussed to document the agricultural biodiversity and cultural diversity present amongst the people living inside the core and buffer area of the reserve. The study specifically deals with the livelihood concerns of the people living inside the biosphere reserve vis-a-vis the issue of relocation of the villages from the core area. The study would help in selecting the new relocation sites at par with earlier settlement so that the economic and cultural equilibrium of the people are not disturbed.
