Management Information System: A Conceptual Foundation

Management information system provide the managers with the accurate and timely informations that are relevant to his decision-making needs in regard to the establishment of objectives, policies and strategies of the organization. Managers obtain valuable insight into the system operations and the significant parameters related to the planning and control of operations while formulating their informations requirements. Information requirement are never static. It exists in a world of concrete places and things, natural resources, and living persons. The sum of all these factors and forces is called the organizations environment. The present work is an humble attempt to study the concept of Management Information System and its role in planning, controlling and operating different functions of an organization by furnishing required information in the proper time frame to assist the decision-making process.
