Mathematical Modeling of Production-Inventory Systems

A production-inventory system deals with the procurement of input items and the production of finished items at a desired quality level. This book is focused on the mathematical modeling of such systems considering deterministic situations. In most of the cases, total relevant cost is minimized after formulating the problem. In addition to a traditional production- inventory system, the discussed models are also useful for the following manufacturing environment: MRP; JIT; Supply chain.
