Consumer is the pivot of the wheel of economics. No country can have an appropriate economic structure without having a just and righteous status to consumers. Inmost of the cases consumers are exploited due to ignorance and want of significant information. No measures to protect consumers can succeed unless and until and consumers are well trained and properly equipped with the knowledge of protective mechanisms and appropriate system of consumer protection. Considering the importance of media in education and protection of consumers, the researchers have tried to analyse the existing role played by media in the Indian context. How media is presently helping the consumers, policy-makers and the judiciary to protect consumers is the subject-matter of the study.
