Independence of India called for radical transformation in the role and outlook of the Indian Armed Forces. New organizations had to be created either to meet requirements, characteristic of modern armed forces or by way of providing facilities which did not exist in India before. Aim of this volume is to provide to our readers the growth and evolution of military system of Independent India.
