In the recent past the earthquake in Pakistan and Kashmir and the hurricane in America have been the examples of the disasters. The world community helped Pakistan to a great extent. But India was able to manage its disaster on its own strength. Various countries have been able to develop strategies for coping with the effects of the disasters. This has led to the evolution of the disaster management theory.

ABOUT THE AUTHOR Sailesh K. Aggarwal

Dr. Sailesh Kumar Aggarwal did his MSc from Muzzafar Nagar in U.P. He did his Ph.D. in Chemistry from Meerut University. Dr. Aggarwal worked as head of the Chemistry department in a Post-Graduate College in Uttaranchal. Dr. Aggarwal is now advisor to many sugar mills of U.P. and is associated with many advisory committees of the Government of U.P. He has authored many books in chemistry and bio-informatics. He writes regularly in various journals and national dailies.
