In the 20th Century many Islamic States came into contact with the Western World and they had the impact of industrialization and modernization. Turkey was the first country in which Kamal Ata Turk brought many changes in the Society to remove the backwardness of the Turkish Society. The Muslim in Spain also had the impact of modernization because of the Spanish Christian influence. First of all the modernization impact was seen in the condition of women. The modernized States began to give proper attention to the education of Women and they gave proper attention to secular education also. Besides this the Islamic states took up the process of economic modernization by establishing industries. Some of the Islamic Stats like Saudi Arabia and Kuwait also got the modernization impact. This is true that Islam has not been able to adjust its ideology with the conditions prevailing in the modern world but the process of modernization has certainly started.

Dr. Azhar Seikh did his Ph.D. in political science from Dr. Ambedkar University Aurangabad, Maharashtra. Dr. Seikh is now professor of sociology and teaches in Nanded.
