Modernity and Ethnic Processes in India

D.V. Kumar (b. 1961) is Lecturer in Sociology, Centre for Distance Education, North-Eastern Hill University, Shillong. He obtained his Ph.D. from the Jawaharlal Nehru University, New Delhi. He was an Associate at the Indian Institute of Advanced Study, Shimla during 1999. His research interests include modernity, identity, secularism and civil society.
