The physical, social and economic environments of the World are changing fast. Technology is the prime driving force for these changes. The rate of change will accelerate steeply further in 21 century. Explosion of knowledge in IT led communication sector, frontier areas of bio-technology particularly in genetic engineering related to human medicine and space exploration would open up vast opportunities for growth and promote change. For the present, efficient management of the existing systems and resources to meet the expanding market for agricultural produces appear to be the best option for promoting sustained growth. This book is based on the presentations in a symposium organized by the International Extension Forum. This Symposium provided opportunities for interaction on Modernising Indian Agriculture for 21 century among social scientists, administrators, policy makers, farmers, economists, development agencies, researchers and students.
