"This book is the outcome of a study carried out in Khol Block of Rewari district, Haryana. It is an indepth study of women workers i.e. Self employed, wage labourers, unpaid family workers and housewives. It is one locale of a six-institution network project. The book assesses women’s work activities, her seasonal shifting pattern of work and time allocated to each of the activities done inside or outside the house. In her work activities she gave more importance to the income-generating activities as she considered this as vital for her family’s well-being. The book also discusses in detail about the morbidity, dietary pattern and nutritional status of her children (especially of those five years and below) and herself. Regarding her morbidity, it was found that a large number of women suffered from gynaecological problems. They could not take any action because of lack of government health facilities and also they had to travel a long distance to seek medical help from lady doctors."
