The Book ‘Mother Teresa -A Symbol of Compassion’ is a Biographical sketch of Mother Teresa’s life. The readers will follow Agnes Gonxha Bohaxhiu from her humble Albanian birth to worldwide celebrity as Mother Teresa. This book narrates on her efforts in founding her Order, the Missionaries of Charity in Calcutta, its expansion and the eventual attention Mother Teresa received throughout the world. The narrative chronicles most of the significant events in her life and her devotion to serving the poorest of the poor and seeing Jesus in the face of every human she encountered. An attempt is also made to compile the numerous awards and recognition she receive, including the Nobel prize in 1979, in this book. A chapter on beatification of Mother Teresa and her possible road to Sainthood is also included. Mother Teresa’s speeches, stories and prayers are also compiled in the last section of the book.

ABOUT THE AUTHOR J. Arivazagan

J. Arivazagan was born on 15th August 1975 in Pondicherry. He did his schooling at Our Lady of Fatima School. He graduated in Commerce from Pondicherry University and went on to study Mass Communication and Journalism at Alagappa University. He worked for the national Commission for background Classes, New Delhi, under the able and valuable guidance of late Hon’ble Justice P.K. Shyamsundar (Ex-Chairperson) and Prof. Bhupan Mohan Das (Ex-member). He is the Founder –secretary of ‘Patriot Association’, which won the “Best NGO” award for the year 1997 from the Government of Pondicherry. For some years, he was in the editorial team of “Thalainagar Thamizhosai’, a free Tamil monthly magazine published from New Delhi. The author is currently working with Omar Zawawi Establishment L.L.C., Muscat, Sultanate of Oman. His next book will be on the life of Sri Aurobindo and his philosophy.
