This Manual is intended to serve as a short introduction to the study of Solar Ingresses, New Moons, Eclipses, Planetary Conjunctions, and similar phenomena, and to give some account of their influence upon countries, nations, districts, and peoples. It is assumed that the reader know how to calculate a horoscope, and that he understands the usual symbols of planets, signs, and aspects, as well as the elementary rules relating to the interpretation of a map of the heavens. None of these are, therefore, repeated here; and those who are unacquainted with them are referred to the previous Manuals in this series, especially to The Horoscope in Detail. The Rules here given are expressed chiefly in terms of the political and national life of Great Britain; but, with the necessary changes in phraseology, they are applicable to any country.
