ABOUT THE AUTHOR Ishtiyaque Danish

Dr. Ishtiyaque Danish is Associate Professor at Department of Islamic Studies, Hamdard University, New Delhi. He holds a Ph.D. in West Asian Studies which is his special area of interest. He has been studying and teaching the modern history of West Asia, Orientalism and Islamic revivalism since 1990. Before joining Hamdard University in 1994, he taught these subjects at Centre for West Asian Studies, AMU, Aligarh. Dr. Danish has published several research articles in national and international journals, he also has a book, The English and the Arabs : The Making of an Image to his credit. He is associated with several academic institutions and bodies. He edits the Journal of Objective Studies, a biannual publication of the IOS, New Delhi.
