New Exploration in Indian English Poetry contains essays / papers on some new and yet unexplored aspects of Indian English poetry in the post-Independence era, which is a period of experimentation innovation in terms of linguistic expression as well as form and style. Both established and new poets have been included for discussion. Two of the papers in theis book are on the poetry of A.K. Ramanujan, in which the author gives a new insight into Ramanujan’s vision, imagery and diction. This collectioin also contains papers on some lesser-known poets like O.P. Bhatnagar and Manohar Bangopadhyay. There is an essay bearing accent on some of the prominent signatures in Indian English poetry from the province of Himachal Pradesh. And there is a paper on an entirely new genre of the ‘minimalist verse’, as practiced by some of the Indian poets.
