New Horizons

In this book New Horizons, the author has attempted to record his views on various specific issues particularly those relating to policing and general administration in the present milieu which have bogged down society so far. This book is a follow-up of the author’s earlier book “Forty Years of Indian Police”. He has focused attention on the prime spheres; the philosophy of general governance as applicable to this country seen in international perspective. The Author desires that the political system and even the constitution of the country require a re-think. He has kept this in view particularly in assessing the impact on the justice – system, the executive, the judiciary and the legislative wing of government, not overlooking the punitive system, prison, parole and probation. The enforcement of fundamental rights particularly those relating to property and freedom of movement and speech and employment have been examined. He has also disserted on the fundamental question on environment in all its implications and the procedures for enforcing its health. This book will be found interesting and useful to all and in particular to police formations in the country.
