ABOUT THE AUTHOR S.L. Basak

S.L. Basak being a graduage of Agriculture obtained M.Sc. (Ag) degree in 1958 from Calcutta University and his Ph.D. degree from the Indian Agricultural Research Institute, New Delhi in 1962. He joined Kalyani University in 1965 as lecturer of genetics and then joined Central Researc Institute for Jute and Allied Fibrs (ICAR) in 1972, held important research Positioins and finally became Director of the Institute and retired in 1993.
