ABOUT THE AUTHOR Krys Kazmierczak

Krys Kazmierczak was born and grew up in London. After completing a degree in mathematics at Brimingham University he was bitten by the travel bug and has mainly lived and worked abroad since 1975. He has been making extensive tours of India and other parts of South Asia since 1980 and his enthusiasm for birds and wildlife has taken him to all corners of the Subcontinent, both privately and as a tour leader. He is a Council Member of the Oriental Bird Club, and Life Member of the Bombay Natural History Society, Ceylon Bird Club and Bird Conservation Nepal. In 1999 he founded Oriental Birding, a free internet discussion group for all those interested in wild Asian birds. His authoritative A Field Guide to the Birds of India, Sri Lanka, Pakistan, Nepal, Bhutan, Bangladesh and the Maldives was published in 2000. he currently manages Peregrine Holidays, a specialist natural history tour operator based in Oxford.
