However, the Indian stock market still faces many challenges like broker’s dominance, weaker market infrastructure, inefficient flow of information and not so transparent trading system. Operations of Indian stock exchanges is done with a view to exploring the variables for the efficient functioning of Indian stock exchanges and suggesting a proper methodology for the efficient functioning of stock exchanges.

ABOUT THE AUTHOR Javaid Khan

Mohammad Javaid is an expert in financial and corporate management. He worked on the operations of Indian Stock Markets and the present dissertation he submitted for his doctoral thesis. He has varied experience in various business organizations ranging from accounts executive to deputy Manager (Finance and Accounts). Born in 1968 in Rampur (UP), he graduated from Rohailkhand University, Bareilly. He holds M.Com and MBA degrees from Aligarh Muslim University, Aligarh and Indira Gandhi National Open University, Delhi respectively. To match the pace of the present day growth in Information Technology he excels in many computer programmes like MS Word, Excel and Access. Currently, he is working at Mashriq Bank, Dubai, United Arab Emirates.
