ABOUT THE AUTHOR Abdur Raheem Kidwai

Professor Abdul Reheem Kidwai is the Director of K.A. Nizami Centre for Quranic Studies, apart from being Professor of English and Director, UGC Human Resource Development Centre at the Aligarh Muslim University, Aligarh, India. His areas of special interest are: English and Urdu language and literature, Literary Orientalism and Quranic Studies. He has to his credit two Ph.D.s in English, one from the University of Leicester, UK, and the other from the AMU, around 40 years teaching experience and more than 30 books. some of his works published by Viva are: Literary Orientalism: A Companion (2013), What is in the Quran? Message of the Quran is Simple English (2013), Believing Critical Eassy on British Muslim Fiction (co-edited, 2016), Orientalism in English Literature: Perception of Islam and Muslim (2016) and Sir Syed Ahmad Khan: Muslim Renaissance Man of India (edited,2017).
