The Paniniyavyakaranodaharanakosa is, as its Fench and English titles indicate (La grammaire panineenne par ses exemples; Paninian Grammar through its Examples) an instrument for grasping in a concrete way both the content and the functioning of the complex grammatical system of the Astadhyayi of Panini along with the vartika-s of Katyayana.  After an initial volume presenting the list of some 40,000 examples given by the Mahabhasya, Kasikavrtti, Bhasavrtti, and Siddhantakaumudi, this second volume is dedicated to compound words.  Following the plan of the Siddhantakaumudi, it gives the examples provided by Bhattoji Diksita in his Samasaprakarana.  A choice of further examples from the three other commentaries has been added.  These examples, given in Sanskrit alphabetical order, constitute the entries of this dictionary.  Each article comprises, after the references, the analytical formulation in Sanskrit, the French and English translations of the example, the sequence of all the operations to be successively carried out in order to cover the formation of the compound up to its final inflected form, and lastly notes.  This dictionary has four indices: an index of the sutra-s of the Samasaprakarana, with references to the examples which illustrate them; an index of the vartika-s mentioned in the prakriya-s and in the notes; an index of Paninian and traditional Indian terminology use din this Samasaprakarana, with references to the sutra-s concerned; an index of examples of compound words which have been given in the three other commentaries and not retained, with references for each one of them to a similar retained example.
