Physical Organic Chemistry is an interdisciplinary science. Its major purpose is the investigation of organic chemistry phenomena by quantitative mathematical methods. It mostly included the studies of mechanisms of chemical reactions by quantitative methods and the effects of the structure of the reagents and the nature of the medium on the reactivity. This book attempts to summarize the main trends in the development of this area of chemistry. It intends for the use of students in physical chemistry as well as students in biological sciences. The principles of physical chemistry are presented from the viewpoint of their applications to chemical and biochemical systems.
