Plastic money or polymer money, made out of plastic, is a new and easier way of paying for goods and services. Plastic money was introduced in the 1950s and is now an essential form of ready money which reduces the risk of handling a huge amount of cash. E. Mrudula holds PGDBA in finance from the ICFAI Business School, Hyderabad. She is currently working as an Associate Consultant at ICFAI Books, an affiliate of the ICFAI University. She has been a regular contributors of articles and case studies to various publications of ICFAI University Press. Her areas of interest include security analysis, project management and human resources.
