ABOUT THE AUTHOR K. Nageswara Rao

Professor K. Nageswara Rao obtained his Ph.D. degree in economics from Sri Krishnadevaraya University, Anantapur, Andhra Pradesh and has twenty seven years of teaching and research experience at the University level. His areas of specialization include public economics and Indian economic development. He has carried out six research projects and submitted reports to UGC, ICSSR and Government of Andhra Pradesh in different areas. Professor Rao has published one book and edited thirteen books including three text books for under-graduate students. He has forty six published research papers to his credit. He was also the recipient of Andhra Pradesh Government Award for University Teaches in 2002. Professor Rao served as Head, Department of Economics, Chairman, Board of Studies and is currently the Co-ordinator, UGC Special Assistance Programme and Dean, Faculty of Social Sciences, Sri Krishnadevaraya University, Anantapur, Andhra Pradesh. He served as the sub-editor of Indian Economic Journal and was the executive member of Indian Economic Association from Andhra Pradesh for six years. Presently, Professor Rao is Vice President, Indian Economic Association.
