ABOUT THE AUTHOR Mohd Aminul Karim

Major General Mohd Aminul Karim,ndc,Idmc, psc is a self-made man whose brilliant career in both the academic, administration and military services span over a period of more than 3 decades. His educational background speaks of his expertise in the field of military and executive management studies which he obtained from the leading educational institutions here and abroad. He obtained his Ist class Master’s both in Defense studied from national  University, Bangladesh and Social Science major political science from Dhaka University and national Defense Course from the National defense College, Dhaka. He was sent abroad to attend the Staff Course in the Armed Forces staff College from Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia (1984-85). In 1991 he want to the College of Defense Management in Hyderabad, India to take up Long Defense management Course (equivalent to a Master’s programme). To further enrich his horizon and competence in management and defense studies, the writer attended additional short term courses like Conflict Management from John F. Kenney School of Government, Harvard University, USA in 2000 and a Senior Executive program from the national Defense University in Washington, USA in 2003. Recently, he obtained his Doctor of Philosophy degree from Dhaka University with his dissertation entitled: “ Power Politics in the Asia-Pacific Region: The case of chinese Modernization” He occupied strategic and key positions in the military service such as Commandant of the Defense Service Command and staff College, and of the national defense College in Dhaka, Bangladesh. He was a Commanding Officer of the army, Brigade Commander, Quarter master General, Adjutant General and the General officer Commanding. Presently he is the Military Secretary to the Honorable President of Bangladesh. He is also a prolific writer having written and published professional papers in various subjects/topics of military defense international affairs, environment public administration and politics.
