ABOUT THE AUTHOR Gitin M Maitra

Gitin M Maitra graduated in mechanical engineering from the Jadavpur University, Calcutta, and worked for several years in industrial concerns of repute in the UK and Germany. On his return to India, he was associated with the Council of Scientific and Industrial Research, Government of India, for a few years before joining the Rourkela steel Plant at Rourkela under the aegis of the Steel Authority of India limited. At present he is engaged as a free-lancer consultant and technical advisor to several concerns dealing with mechanical engineering. Mr. Maitra is a full member of the Institution of German Engineers as well as of the Institution of Engineers, India.
