The book is a collection of research papers in honour of Dr. Phanikanta Mishra, Regional Director (East) and Competent Authority of Heritage by-laws in the Archaeological Survey of India, Kolkata. The papers included are the outcome of researches on archaeological explorations and excavations, art, architecture, epigraphy, conservation and heritage management from some of his close friends and learned scholars who acknowledge him as an eminent archaeologist of repute and admire him in the scholarly world. The first volume is devoted to the detailed reports of some outstanding and interesting discoveries of Dr. Mishra made in the field of Archaeology and History.
Bound in two volumes these papers, supported with plates, notes, references and bibliography, are altogether grouped in six sections, i.e. Section-I: Memoirs, Section-II: Archaeology, Section-III: Art and Epigraphy, Section IV: Architecture, Section V: Protection of Cultural Heritage, and Section VI: Reconstruction of History.
