Several carefully planned features of the book “Principles of Management-Foundations and Realities” provide value to the text beyond traditional books on the subject: Focus: The book focuses on two themes-the need to take a strategic orientation at all levels of the firm and the fact that true competitive advantages lies in knowing the society in which the firm has to operate. Writing Style: Simplicity of the book is its ethos and clarity is its strength. The writing is consistent in both level and style and is easy for students to follow. Numerous up-to-date examples: To become successful, students will need practice. Because many students have limited exposure to real organizations, the book contains recent examples from a broad spectrum of organizations to illustrate the major concepts and to help students apply the knowledge.
