This book offers an assessment of the performance of the large and medium textile industries in India, based on a case study of Orissa. ABOUT THE AUTHOR B. Sahoo

Dr. B. Sahoo (b. 1933), received his education at Presidency College, Calcutta; Ravenshaw College, Cuttack and Gokhale Institute of Politics and Economics, Pune. He obtained the Ph.D. degree from Utkal University. Keenly interested in creative and critical writings, Prof. Sahoo has many publications to his credit. The most important ones are “Wage Price Productivity in Leading Sectors of India”, “Weaker Sections: Poverty and Development”, “Institution, Structure and Development” and “Anthologies of Oriya Poetry and Short Stories”. Dr. Sahoo served as Professor of Economics in the Premier College of Orissa and Utkal University and N.K.C. Centre for Development Studies, Bhubaneswar. Currently he is the Director of the J.P. Institute of Social & Economic Studies, Bhubaneswar.
