You may be planning to teach because the influence exerted upon you by certain teachers you had while attending the public schools or by your friends or relatives who are educators. Perhaps you have admired these individuals and wish to be like them in every way possible. Consciously or unconsciously, you see in them the exemplification of values you feel to be important. While you may have been inspired by others to plan a career in education, you should be certain that your consideration of teaching as a career goes far beyond the level of inspiration.
