The macroeconomic model for Lebanon is developed to analyse the effects of increased government expenditure, and it’s funding, upon key macroeconomic variables, and the government’s current policy approach to the fiscal crisis. The book will be of interest to researchers and scholars of contemporary Middle East economies, as well as, more generally, those interested in macro modelling fiscal deficits and their funding in developing economies.
ABOUT THE AUTHOR Charles Harvie
Professor Charles Harvie is presently an Associate Professor of Economics at the University of Wollongong in Australia. He has published numerous journal articles, chapters and books on the economies of East Asia. He is the co-editor (with Dr Boon Chye-Lee) of a series of four books, currently in the process of completion with Edward Elgar Publishing, on the contribution of small and medium-sized enterprises to the recovery of the East Asian economies, in the wake of financial crisis. He has also authored and edited four more books with Macmillan (Palgrave). His areas of research interest include the economies of East Asia (in particular Korea, China, Vietnam and Indonesia), the economics of transition, and SMEs and entrepreneurialism..
