ABOUT THE AUTHOR Chakradhar Reddy

Dr. Chakradhar Reddy earned his doctoral degree in Electrical Engineering from Indian Institute of Science, Bangalore. He has about 8 years of experience in teaching Electrical Engineering subjects and also guided many students appearing for competitive examinations. Dr. Reddy`s original contribution to thermal breakdown mechanism in dielectric materials has also been included in the book. He has published about 20 papers in international IEEE Journals and National and International Conferences in the field of dielectrics and electrical insulation. Currently he is working as a scientist in J-Power Systems Corporation, Japan and is actively engaged in collaborative research with prominent Japanese universities in the current field of engineering.

ABOUT THE AUTHOR T S Ramu

T S Ramu is a Professor in the Department of Electrical Engineering, Indian Institute of Science, Bangalore, India. He received M.E. degree from IISc, Bangalore and Ph.D. degree from IIT-Madras (1975). He held a post doctoral position at the University of Groninngen, The Netherlands (1975-77) and worked as a visiting Research Scientist, Ecole Polytechnic, Montreal, Canada (1981-83). He was a Visiting Scientist at the KEMA Laboratory, Arnhem, The Netherlands (1987-88) and a Visiting Professor at the University of Delft, The Netherlands (1999-2000). He was associated with the TNBR and UNITEN, Malaysia as a technical advisor for a short period in 2005. He is the current Chairman, CIGRE D-1 India and an international Member of CIGRE Gr. D-1.
