This is a fine and well-researched piece of work on a thinker important in his own time but gravely neglected since, Dr Solomon Victus has done an impressive amount of research, This work is particularly valuable because of the neglect into which J C Kumarappa has fallen. As Dr Victus points out, Kumarappa was multiple outsider, he was not orthodox enough as a Christian, or as a Gandhian, or as an economist, and hence has been unfairly ignored in the historiography of those three fields. Dr Victus makes the case very well that in each of these fields he made important and perhaps even pioneering contributions.
