Religion and Society in South India

Dr. G. Prakash Reddy (b. 27 August 19940) M.A., PH.D. is currently professor of Social Anthropology in the S.V. university. Tirupati (A. P.). He started his official career in the Directorate of C3ensus (A.P.) , Hyderabad, Registrar General, govt. of India and Deptt. of anthropology, Andhra University Waltair. He is the author of 6 books. Two more books are in the press. He has contributed over 40 papers which have been published in national and international journals. He has also completed 5 Research Projects and 3 are in progress. His major fields of interest are island Studies, Studies on Case and Religion, Tribal Studies and Man and Environment.

Dr. V. Sudarsen obtained his Master's and Ph.D. degrees in anthropology from andhra University. Since 1977 he is teaching Anthropology in the University of Madras. He has published 35 papers in various journals and book,s in addition to three books. His main research interests are Island and Ecological studies and Marxian anthropology.
