This work has deep bearing on several religious sects which have flourished in India. Their patrons being the prominent persons, they have a large following of men, women and the youths. Their main motive is the reforming zeal which they wish to inculcate among the masses. Indeed the pioneering work done by Brahma Samaj, the Arya Samaj, the Nirankari Mission, Mu’in al-din Chishti, Shaikh Nizam-ud-din Auliya and others is praiseworthy. The theme would be useful for teachers, research scholars and students interested in the religious sects of India. It would also be a welcome addition in several universities where teachers would like to acquaint their students with the religious sects and institutions functioning under them.
