The book under caption "Reservational Justice to Other Backward Classes (OBCs)" presents an indepth study of central issues emerging out of reservational justice in general and in post Mandal case judgement in relation to reservational justice to other backward classes in particular. The problem of reservational justice is sui-generis in hierarchical caste ridden Indian society in view of majority of its population falling victim of discriminatory treatments at the hands of a handful of chosen privileged class having control over the levers of power. There is wealth of literature on equalitarian justice, protective discrimination and so on. With start of 1990s and decision of V.P. Singh Government to implement Mandal Commission Report belligerent anti-reservationists are allaying the danger of Mandalisation of society and most of the writings sail on the same boat. They have solace in the Supreme Court’s verdict directing skimming off creamy layer of OBCs and shutting the door of promotional Manson for the beneficiaries of reservations. But everything is not right with world. And therefore the book aims at presenting the other side of the coin. It gives full detail of Mandal Commission’s Report, critique of the two national Backward Classes Commissions, theoretical and practical issues, governmental commitment of otherwise to implement the measures ensuring reservational justice to OBCs. The book is thought provoking and will inspire legal luminaries, political thinkers, social reformers and all those who aspire to bring social justice to think, rethink and again think on the issue of reservational justice to OBCs if it is aimed to serve any meaningful purpose and is not reduced to giving by one and taking away by the other hand. The contents include: Author’s Caveat; problem in retrospect; Implementation and Governmental Attempts to Provide Reservational Justice to OBCs; Implementation of the Recommendations of Mandal Commission and Eruption of Anti-Reservationists volcano; Theoretical Issues Relating to Reservational Justice to OBCs; Practical Issues Relating to Reservational Justice to OBCs; Resistance Against and Confusion on Reservational Justice to OBcs; and epilogue.
